Bond Plumbing was established in 1932 as a family business serving the Taos area with professional plumbing, heating and cooling services.
Started in 2001, Valverde Energy is a leader in the solar energy industry, providing solar services to Santa Fe, Taos, Los Alamos, Angel Fire and the surrounding areas.
Combining Our Strengths
In 2014, Bond Plumbing and Valverde Energy combined to form Valverde Energy and Bond Plumbing.
While both companies had a great deal of overlap in talents and capabilities, the end result of forming one company has been the creation of a strong skill-set that includes plumbing and heating renewable energy, drain service, heat pumps and high efficiency mini-split heating and cooling units that take advantage of our locally produced solar electricity.

Larry Mapes’s experience in Solar Energy dates back to 1980 and is how he started in the trades.
He has served on solar energy code writing committees on local, state and international organizations that include International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO), State of New Mexico, North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP) advised with local governments and taught as adjunct at University of New Mexico, Taos Campus.
